John Brown

30 Years Experience

B.S. Nuclear Engineering & Operations, U.S. Military Academy at West Point

B.A. Accounting, Bentley College

Graduate Work in Business, University of Denver

John, a former CFO, controller, management engineer, plant manager and practice leader, brings over 30 years of practical hands-on leadership to Arrow, its investors and its businesses in the areas of business development, finance and operations. His experience spans both public and private businesses, large and small, in North America, Europe and Asia.

His lifetime of work in technology, manufacturing and service sector organizations successfully helped lead those organizations to innovate, transform and then drive performance. John has always gravitated to situations of high uncertainty leading to participation in transforming initiatives throughout his career (green-field investments, buy and sell transactions, divestitures). He has participated from conceptualization and planning through the implementation of well over 200 initiatives, large and small. As a recent example, John helped a small Internet ASP company launch, from concept and prototype through initial deployment, resulting in its recent purchase by a multi-national company headquartered in Holland. His roles included business planning, documentation, financing, deal negotiation and operations.

John’s formal training includes nuclear engineering, operations research and management engineering, accounting and finance. He held an accounting certification for nearly twenty years. In response to practical and widespread problems he observed in achieving the hoped-for results of strategic initiatives, John published an article on the practical aspects of planning and executing such initiatives for results that received international recognition.
